Description
Two pages long. On the first of two pages, this document is an affidavit certifying that Smith Carson will support the constitution of the United States and reject any allegiance to any other country, especially his home country of Ireland. Smith Carson does so on behalf of himself and his wife and his children. The document also notes that Jeremiah Gibson + – W. Winston confirm that Smith Carson "has resided within the United States five years + upwards of one year and that during that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order." It is signed by Tho T Armstrong clk on September 5th, 1830.
