Title
Oct 25, 1824 Smith Carson Citizenship Declaration, two pages
Description
Two pages long. On the first of two pages, this document is a declaration of citizenship made by David Carson's brother, Smith Carson, after his arrival in Stokes County, North Carolina. On this first page it announces that Smith Carson, his wife, and children are illegal aliens planning to become citizens of the United States on October 30th, 1824. The paper has a jagged edge so some of the words are cut short.
On the second of two pages, this document is a declaration of citizenship made by David Carson's brother, Smith Carson, after his arrival in Stokes County, North Carolina. On this second page, it announces that Smith Carson, his wife, and children are illegal aliens planning to become citizens of the United States on October 30th, 1824. The paper has a jagged edge so some of the words are cut short. It lists his daughter's name Margaret Nicholl Carson born in the county of Antrim Ireland of the age of seven years in allegiance to the king of Great Britain + Ireland and presumably lists his other family members all of whom migrated from said county Antrim in Ireland with the intention of residing in the county of Stokes in the said state of North Carolina, but the paper is cut off. At the bottom, it is signed by Smith Carson For himself, for his wife Elizabeth, and his children. North Carolina 1824
