Title

Sept 21, 1855 Letitia Carson Testimony by Thayer, two pages

Description

Two pages long. This document begins Letitia's testimony during her second lawsuit against Greenberry Smith. On this first page, her testimony reasserts that Greenberry took twenty-nine head of cattle consisting of cows, heifers, steers, & calves of the value of twelve hundred dollars and sold them as property belonging to the Estate of the said, David Carson. This statement is then signed by Letitia's lawyer Andrew Thayer on September 21st, 1855.

The second page is brief and Andrew Thayer's oath, saying that he has read the foregoing complaint & knows the contents thereof and that he believes the same to be true based on neighbor's accounts. It concludes by stating that makes this affidavit on account of Letitia because she is absent from said county, currently living in Douglas county. It is then signed by Jas H. Slater, clerk of the District Court of the Oregon Territory on September 21st, 1855.
