This document is dated June 9, 1864, over twelve years after David Carson's death and seven years after Greenberry Smith sold the land he was administrator of to George Fogle. Nevertheless, Greenberry Smith is taking a federal oath while acting as executor and administrator in 1864. It is unclear why or any of the circumstances surrounding this oath. It is registered with the land office in Oregon City, Oregon.
