Title

November 2, 1853, Greenberry Smith Administrator Court Document

Description

This document from November 1853 outlines Greenberry Smith as administrator, and not Joseph T Hughart, another friend or neighbor of David Carson. It essentially declares that despite a relation or closeness to the land or David Carson, Hughart is not at all interested in owning it. The document can be transcribed as "No 2683 Joseph T Hughart of Benton County in the Territory of Oregon being first duly sworn says that he is no way interested in the tract or tracts of land claimed as a donation by Green B Smith administrator of the estate of David Carson deceased for the heirs at law of Carson and particularly described in notification No 2683 hereinto annexed that he is personally acquainted with the said David Carson deceased and knows that he has personally resided upon and cultivated said tract or tracts of land continuously from the 1st of February 1850 to the __ day of September 1852 Joseph T Hughart subscribed and sworn before me in Manpville (?) this said day of November 1853 in testimony whereof I A.G. Hovey made + — in Chan— for Benton County has hereafter signed my name
And affixed my private seal (no official seal provided) this 2nd day of November 1853 A.G. Hovey Made and Comm in Chan—"
