Description

This document is a letter from David Carson's nephew Andrew Jackson Carson, son of David's brother Smith P. Carson. Andrew writes this letter to Margaret N. Robinson of Platte County, announcing Robinson as his attorney and asking Robinson to demand, sue for, and collect, all of his interest and claim in and to the Estate of David Carson in Missouri. Andrew Carson resided in Lane County at the time of writing this letter but had a vested interest and claim to his uncle's land in Missouri. Andrew signed this letter on May 3rd, 1858, it was sealed and delivered in the presence of R.H. Parsons and E.F. Skinner, Deputy for Lane County Oregon Territory, who also signed the document. Additionally, the document is signed by E.J. Harding, Clerk, and W.C. Remington, recorder. The files include two different scans of the same document.
