June 19, 1868 Final Receiver Receipt

This document is the final receiver's receipt for Letitia Carson's Douglas County homestead. It reads, "RECEIVED of Letitia Carson ---------------------------the sum of one (1) ----- dollars ----- 92 ----- cents; being the second half of compensation of Register and Receiver, and balance of payment required by law for the entry of W ½ of NE ¼ & fracl. E 1/ of NW ¼ -------------------- of Section --------------- 20 --------------- in Township 29 South ------------- of Range 3 West ----containing 153.98 acres, under the Acts of Congress approved May 20, 1862, and March 21, 1864, entitled “An act to secure homesteads to actual settlers on the public domain.” It was signed by receiver Addison R. Smith on June 19th, 1868.
