Description
Two-page document of the sale of David Carson's estate from the ownership of Greenberry Smith to George Fogle. It notes that Greenberry Smith sold the land to George Fogle for a sum of $860. Written in 1857, this document is proof of the transfer of land ownership with the approval of the court. It cuts off in the middle of the document and is continued on in the latter half of the page, in the next document.
The second page begins with a restatement of the intentions of the document: David Carson's land is being sold on the 30th day of May 1857 to George Fogle for $860. It is then signed by Greenberry Smith and mentions the Territory of Oregon and the County of Benton. The following paragraph is a confirmation written and signed by Mr. Cardwell, Judge of Probate.
