This photograph taken in 1941 clearly shows Carson Benton County lands just prior to acquisition by the federal government for Camp Adair. From the Benton County Historical Society Website: "From near Sec. Cor. 7, 12, 13, 18 T.10S., R. 4 & 5W. Looking SW up Soap Creek Valley, Coffin Butte on left. John W. Cunningham & Associates signed a contract with the U.S. War Department on August 23, 1941, to engage their services as "Architect-Engineer" to prepare the reports, designs, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to construct Camp Adair, Benton County, Oregon. See: 1994-078.0007A-B for a complete list of the photographs."
