This edition of the Umpqua Trapper includes a story by Bess A. Clough. Her story tells the narrative of her grandfather, Hardy Crier Elliff, of the Elliff family who Letitia stayed with and worked for after being forced off her Benton County land. It includes a small mention of Letitia, or "Aunt Tish" who arrived with her young children and stayed with the family while she got back on her feet.
