Thayer, and signed on September 22, 1854. In this legal document, attorney Thayer summarizes Letitia's position against Greenberry Smith saying that Letitia, "worked labored & performed services for the said David Carson during his lifetime & at his special instances & request for the term of seven years & six months in the county of Benton territory of Oregon and also on the road while crossing the plains between the State of Missouri & said Territory, which said work labor & services were done & performed between the 1st day of May in the year AD 1845 and the 1st day of March AD 1853."
