July 17, 1854 Letitia Carson bill to David Carson for unpaid labor

This legal document is a bill that denotes the time and cost of Letitia's labor for David Carson in the years 1845-1853. The bill establishes Letitia's duration of unpaid labor, and explains the total cost of such labor saying, "Seven years & six months labor done & performed for the said David Carson between the 1st day of May AD 1845 and the 1st day of March AD 1853, at $200.00 per year making in all $1500.00." It goes on to sum up the cost of David Carson boarding and clothing her children as $500, giving the total sum of $1000. It is this sum that Letitia then fights for in her first court battle against GreenberrySmith.
