This document was written by Judge of Probate A.N. Locke to Andrew Carson regarding Letitia Carson's first case against Greenberry Smith. Judge Locke is calling for Andrew Carson to appear in court to testify in the case, the document is dated March 1st, 1854. The document is brief and reads, "To Andrew Carson in the name of the United States of America you are hereby required to appear before me Judge of Probate Court in said county at my office therein on the 18 day of March 1854 at 10 of the Clock AM of said day to testify in a suit where-in Lucretia Carson is plaintiff and Green Berry Smith administrator of the estate of David Carson Deceased defendant on the part of the defendant Giving under my hand this the first day of March 1854."
