Undated Excerpt from David Carson Biographical Source pages 301 - 304

Description

This excerpt from a larger document does not list the date or author, but still provides some biographical and genealogical information on David and Letitia Carson prior to and during their time in Oregon. On the first page, page 301, it begins to cut off from a previous page and talks of Marcus Cahoon, speaking of him as a subject of genealogical study, his story concludes halfway down the page and then David Carson's story begins. It states, "Carson, David House 135, Arrived Oregon 1845" and goes on to include Genealogical information from the Oregon Donation Land Claim as well as quoted excerpts in which David Carson was mentioned. It is continued on the second page, page 302.

On page 302, it quotes court documents from Greenberry Smith's application to be administrator of Carson's estate. It lists the items present at David Carson's estate at the time of his death. The end of page two begins a quoted passage from a 1982 volume of the Umpqua Trapper.

This passage continues onto the third page, page 303. This page discusses Letitia's successful court battles against Smith, as well as Letitia and David's son Andrew. It explains Andrew's life in Benton county and his death in 1922. Page four, 304 concludes David Carson's biography and begins the next in alphabetical order as it begins to discuss David Davis.
