It summarizes Letitia's position saying, "This was an action by a black woman to recover the value of her service rendered in this territory to the defendant, from the year 1845 to 1852. Luteshia was a
slave in Missouri, but came to Oregon and served her master faithfully until his death. In the absence of circumstances that would imply an agreement to pay, Jury disagreed – 9 for and 3 against – jury discharged. Cause continued." This clipping was published October 17th, 1854.
