Title
1950 c. Aerial View Thomas Read House
Description
This 1950 aerial view photograph captures the Carson's Benton County neighbors. The Reads lived nearby the Carsons in the Soap Creek Valley and are believed to have owned a child's bed that once belonged to the Carsons. The Benton County Historical Society elaborates on the photograph saying, "Central is house, with garage behind, as well as barn and sheds; at far left center is farm pond. The drive begins with a covered gate, continuing with a board fence to south of house. Laundry hangs on a wash line in yard. In clearing between two wooded areas can be seen Civilian Conservation Corps buildings; other buildings are visible in upper left corner. Highway 99 is at right edge of image, and someone is crossing road to mailbox; another figure stands on cutoff leading to gate. Foreground is fields and background is wooded hillside. Transcribed from handwritten note in red ink on verso: "T[om]Warren] P June '72". Black and white copy print; landscape."
